On December 24, 2023, KION released Matterica's documentary Bani, directed by Mikhail Borodin. The film follows three protagonists who build a traditional Russian banya in Paris, on the Pacific coast of Mexico, and in the desert of the Burning Man festival.
About the film
Bani is a documentary exploration of the Russian banya as a cultural phenomenon in the contemporary world. Its protagonists are people for whom the bathhouse is not a convenience but a way of life. One of them told Afisha: "Banya has been with me since childhood — every Wednesday my grandfather took me there, and I always looked forward to it." The film is a Matterica production.
